Ozzy Osbourne Says He Doesn’t Have Long Left To Live

Ozzy Osbourne, at the age of 74, openly acknowledges that he is facing a finite timeline, estimating that he has “at best 10 years left” in his life.

The iconic rocker, who has been grappling with the repercussions of multiple back surgeries, including the discovery of a spinal tumour, candidly expressed his desire to avoid a protracted and agonising existence.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK, Ozzy, who has been contending with Parkinson’s Disease since 2003, vehemently disputes the notion that he is in the throes of his final battle.

Despite his health challenges, he asserts that reports of his imminent demise are premature, declaring, “It p***es me off” when such narratives gain traction.

Reflecting on his perspective on mortality, Ozzy shared, “I don’t fear dying, but I don’t want to have a long, painful, and miserable existence.”

Drawing from personal experiences, particularly witnessing his father’s battle with cancer, he expressed a preference for the option of swift and controlled interventions available in places like Switzerland for those with terminal illnesses.

In a characteristic display of irreverence, Ozzy recounted a conversation with his wife Sharon, mentioning a recent j*int-smoking episode. When confronted about the potential harm, he retorted, “How long do you want me to f***ing live for?!” This nonchalant attitude towards his mortality is juxtaposed with a poignant awareness of the passage of time, evidenced by his disbelief at reaching his 41st wedding anniversary with Sharon.

Delving into the aftermath of his back surgeries, Ozzy revealed the profound impact on his physical well-being. The second surgery, in particular, went awry, leaving him virtually crippled. The subsequent discovery of a tumour in one of his vertebrae necessitated further intervention, including the insertion of a rod in his spine. The toll on his balance has been significant, and he described the entire experience as “pretty rough.”

The rocker’s health struggles extend beyond his back issues. Last year, Ozzy underwent a “life-altering” surgery to address pins in his neck and back stemming from a quad biking accident in 2003. The complex nature of his health challenges is illustrated by a recent surgery to remove a filter from his artery, reducing the risk of blood clots impacting vital organs.

Despite the ongoing pain and discomfort, Ozzy remains resolute, expressing his determination to persevere through his health issues. He revealed plans for an upcoming epidural to address lower back concerns and acknowledged the ongoing battle against constant pain. Emphasising his reliance on music as a driving force, he admitted, “The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records. But I can’t do that forever.”

In his characteristic fashion, Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, confronts the inevitability of his mortality with a mix of defiance, humour, and a keen awareness of the fleeting nature of time. The rock legend, whose life has been an epic tale of highs and lows, continues to face his health challenges with an indomitable spirit, determined to make the most of the time he has left.
