NFL Mourns the Loss of Super Bowl Champion Matt Ulrich

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of former NFL player, Matt Ulrich. At the young age of 41, Ulrich, who was an offensive guard for the Indianapolis Colts, left an indelible mark on the game of football.

A Championship Legacy

Ulrich’s talent and dedication to the sport were evident during his time with the Colts.

In 2006, he was an integral part of the team that clinched Super Bowl XLI victory under the leadership of Peyton Manning. His contributions to that historic win will forever be remembered in the annals of NFL history.

A Great Loss

Colts owner, Jim Irsay, expressed his grief upon hearing of Ulrich’s passing. He said, “I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich. Matt was with us only two seasons but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad — and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family.”

Beyond the Field

Ulrich’s life extended beyond his football career. Shortly after retiring from the NFL, he co-founded DexaFit LLC, a company focusing on body fat and metabolic testing. However, his true passion lay in being a family man.

Ulrich and his family made Bozeman, Montana their home. In his company bio, he shared, “My wife and I always dreamed of raising our family in Bozeman, MT, but 20 years ago there were far fewer professional jobs available.” He found solace in the fact that his business growth created more job opportunities for other families pursuing their dreams in Montana.
