Kylie Jenner has lost nearly a quarter of a million Instagram followers in the wake of one Instagram post that left many of her followers deeply offended.

The news comes after the twenty-six-year-old lost her crown as the most followed woman on Instagram earlier this year after a rumoured feud against Selena Gomez led to the ‘Single Soon’ singer overtaking her.

Now, the Kardashian family is a force to behold in modern pop culture.

With mother Kris Jenner at the helm, the family has shot Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie all to mega levels of fame and wealth with their various social media personas and business pursuits. Keeping up With The Kardashians may have been one of the causes of their fame, but the family have made sure to make the most of it!

With their areas of expertise ranging from Kim’s billion-dollar company Skims to Kendall’s domination of the most prestigious fashion week runways, the family have pretty much everything covered.

However, it is the youngest of the sisters, Kylie, that has made one of the biggest impacts. The star has made a name for herself not only as a queen of Instagram, but also as a businesswoman, as her brand Kylie Cosmetics is arguably one of the Kar-Jenner empire’s biggest success stories.

Despite this, the star is not immune to backlash.

In fact, one of Kylie’s most recent posts has caused such a huge furore that she has lost over 230,000 followers.

Kylie shared a post voicing her support for Israel after the country faced a deadly attack by Hamas. After breaching the Gaza border, the militant group targeted civilians, leaving over 800 Israelis dead so far, per Al Jazeera.

The Israeli military responded to Hamas’ attack by showering the Gaza strip with airstrikes and promising “a complete siege” on the Hamas-run enclave. Thousands have been injured as a result, with over 500 Palestinians having been killed.

Kylie Jenner shared a post from the account @standwithus which showed her support for Israel, featuring a flag of the country with the message: “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel.”

However, she soon took the post down from her story after facing backlash for sharing the message.

“Too late we all saw that,” one person wrote on X in response to Kylie’s sharing of the post.

A second wrote: “Why did she think that was a good idea.”

“Girl, if that’s what you support. Then stand by it. Or was it just more performative activism? Don’t double back now that you’re getting backlash,” a third person wrote.

While a fourth said: “It’s very obvious she doesn’t even know what’s happening. She. Just wants to join the trend.”

“It’s actually way worse that Kylie Jenner just deleted the Israel post,” commented a fifth. “It shows a lack of knowledge and care, she just posted it to be talked about.”

Kylie has lost over 230,000 followers in the wake of the backlash, per UNILAD. Although it is unclear if people have unfollowed due to the sharing of the post or the subsequent deleting of the post, the star’s Instagram has been flooded with messages from people on both sides criticising her for speaking out on the issue.

“You won’t read this but; educate yourself before publicly supporting a people. There is a very long history there,” one person wrote on her latest feed post.
