Do you enjoy going to the dentist? Chances are if you’re like most people, you don’t.
With any luck, you might get a few minutes of the laughing gas, but other than that, being at the dentist usually means some fear and a lot of pain. Not to mention just sheer nervousness.
The good thing is you’re not alone, and dentists are well aware of how much anxiety most of us have at the idea of visiting them. They’re actually trained to try to help patients be more at ease, as it turns out.
I read a Reddit thread where dentists explained all of the things they do to try to help their patients relax. One thing is, if your dentist talks a lot, it’s to distract you from what’s going on in your mouth. And some tell jokes. Enjoy this one below.
A dentist noticed that his next patient, a little old woman, who was nervous, so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.
‘Do you know how they make these gloves?’ he asked.
‘No, I don’t,’ she replied.
‘Well,’ he spoofed,
‘There’s a building in Canada with a big tank of latex, and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, Then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size.’
She didn’t crack a smile.
‘Oh, well.. I tried,’ he thought.
But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the procedure, she burst out laughing.
‘What’s so funny?’ he asked.
‘I was just envisioning how c0ndoms are made!’
