After A Miscarriage, Woman Prepares To Put Angel Baby’s Things Away When Her Dog Does Something Amazing.

Grief can be such a difficult emotion to process. It can also be isolating, even when you know that you aren’t truly alone.

This is the type of grief that Cassandra Hess and her family are experiencing. While her first son was still a baby, she became pregnant with her second child.

Both she and her husband couldn’t have been more thrilled.

Then, 18 weeks later, every parent’s worst nightmare came true. While at an appointment, Cassandra’s little one, who they named Oakley, did not have a heartbeat. The two of them couldn’t have been more devastated. Then, after a week, their dog found a way to comfort mom in a way that seems as though he understood she had a miscarriage.

Cassandra captured the moment on camera, sharing it on social media for others to find comfort in it, too. While sitting on the floor, Mom goes through Oakley’s things, something she wasn’t able to get herself to do for a week after he passed.

Taking the time to put away his stuff is already an emotional task, but nothing could have prepared her for what happens next.

Dog Finds Way to Comfort Mom After Miscarriage

Curious, the adorable pup makes his way over to the basket. Just as Mom starts to take a blanket out of the basket, he starts to sniff it. Then, suddenly, his gaze is drawn toward Mom, a look of recognition on his face.

Cassandra begins to cry and, without hesitation, her four-legged friend comforts her with kisses. He then proceeds to sniff around the basket some more, a heartbreaking moment that many in the comments have said makes it seem as though he’s looking for the baby.

“The worst pain I’ve ever felt,” Cassandra wrote. “I delivered my son sleeping at 18 weeks almost a week ago. I was recording myself looking through his stuff for the last time before I put it away. This was the first time my dog saw the basket. I wasn’t sure if he would understand, but he did.”

Although this moment is heartbreaking, it’s reminding Cassandra, and the millions of folks who have seen her video, that we are never truly alone in our grief.
