The Sprouse Twins Are All Grown Up Now

Some people get their big break in Hollywood but when you are a twin, you sometimes can get the break at a very young age. That was the case with Dylan and Cole, the Sprouse twins.

Although we are probably more familiar with them from their younger years when they were on a variety of shows and movies, they are now full-grown and 30 years old.

It was how they got their start, however, that really helped to identify them. They started out doing some commercials and then played in the TV comedy series, Grace under Fire between 1993 and 1998.

You couldn’t tell the difference between the two boys which was good for them, because child labor laws kept them from working long hours. Having twins on the set would benefit for that very reason.

One of the ways in which they were best known is when they played with Adam Sandler in 1999 on the film, Big Daddy. It seemed as if they nailed every line in the show.

Cole spoke about Sandler, saying: “Perhaps I’m a bit biased because I’ve known him for ages, but I do admire his career. He’s got a really, really wonderful balance between art and commerce that I think is the currency of a real working actor.” Cole continued, “He’s walking that line beautifully and he’s raising up all of his friends at the same time, which I think is incredible.”

They went on to play in the TV show Friends, as well as a number of other shows.

Eventually, they played in the film Master of Disguise, but they were able to be their own person on that show. They also played on a Disney show that ran for three seasons, beginning in 2005.

As teenagers, they were very popular but they maintained a good reputation among the young Hollywood crowd. Dylan went on to study video game design at New York University and Zach studied humanities and archaeology.

“I needed to take a break and step outside myself, I needed a dose of reality, and I needed to see myself in a more objective point of view. And now I think I can enjoy [acting], which is a really fundamental part about being an actor,” Cole said, explaining that the long-running Disney series had him feeling like a machine. “I’m not saying that we didn’t enjoy that time, but it was work. It’s a career and a business, and it got me to college, which is one of the most fantastic gifts I could’ve been given. But I’m glad to be [acting] on my own accord now.”

Although they took two different paths, they both graduated in 2015. Cole decided to get back into acting again but he did so without his brother.

Cole now plays Jughead Jones on Riverdale, a TV drama series. He is also dating Ari Fournier, a French-Canadian model.

Dylan is working in the videogame industry voicing characters and is engaged to Barbara Palvin, a Sports Illustrated model.

It’s amazing how far these two boys have come since Big Daddy
