Young kid is staring at a memorial plaque in the church, has a funny question for the pastor

It’s always interesting to me to watch children as they sit and try to figure things out.

I love watching this process because I know that in many cases, children are experiencing something for the first time in their lives.

It’s not often that you get to see someone’s first reaction to new information, but if you watch children, you can see this a lot.

The fact is, adults do some baffling things and kids don’t always know what’s going on. Seen from an adult point of view, something can make perfect sense, but when a child tries to understand it, the information doesn’t always computer. Just think about things like religion and how challenging it can be for a kid to understand. In the joke below, you’ll see this going on and it’s quite funny. Enjoy!

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Joey standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque.

It was covered with names and had small United States flags mounted on both sides of it.

The six-year-old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, “Good morning, Joey.”

“Good morning Father,” he replied, still focused on the plaque. “Father, what is this?”

The pastor said, “Well son, it’s a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.”

Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Joey’s voice, barely audible and trembling with fear, asked, “Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:30?”

LOL! Bless him.
