In 2018, two special people, Sultan Kösen from Turkey and Jyoti Amge from India, went to Egypt together. 😃

Sultan Kösen is the tallest living man in the world, and he stands at a height of 8 feet and 3 inches.

Jyoti Amge is the shortest living woman in the world, and she’s just 2 feet and 0.7 inches tall.

These two famous individuals took pictures next to the Great Sphinx of Giza and the pyramids in Egypt, which is near Cairo. 📷

The Sphinx is one of the oldest examples of Egyptian architecture. No one knows exactly when it was built, but experts think it was created a very long time ago, around 2558 to 2532 BCE, when a pharaoh named Khafre was in charge. 👑

The Sphinx statue has the body of a lion and the head of a person, believed to be Khafre.

It’s about 240 feet long from its paw to tail and 66 feet tall. The Sphinx is eight times taller than Sultan Kösen and 32 times taller than Jyoti Amge! 🤯

Just like Sultan and Jyoti, the Sphinx also has a Guinness World Record. It’s the largest sculpture made from a single piece of stone, specifically limestone. It’s called the largest monolithic sculpture in the world.

Sultan officially became the world’s tallest living man in 2009. He was the first man over 8 feet tall to be measured by Guinness World Records in more than 20 years! 😵

In the same year, when Jyoti was 15 years old, she was recognized as the shortest teenager living (female), measuring at 2 feet and 0.3 inches.

When Jyoti turned 18, she was measured again, and her height was 2 feet and 0.7 inches, making her the shortest living woman in the world.

Jyoti’s small size is because of a type of dwarfism called achondroplasia, which means she won’t grow taller.

On the other hand, Sultan’s large size is due to a condition called pituitary gigantism, which makes his bones and body parts grow much faster than most people. 🦴️

Now, Jyoti is 28 years old and still holds her record, remaining very popular. 😃 Sultan, at 39, is also very famous and draws a crowd wherever he goes! 😍

But their Guinness World Records don’t stop there…

Sultan also has the record for the largest hands on a living person, with each hand measuring 11.22 inches from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger. ✋

Jyoti achieved her dream of becoming the shortest actress in the world by playing the role of Ma Petite in American Horror Story.
