We may have many different relationships in our lives but some are going to be more special than others. In fact, we may have some from the time we are born that will last a lifetime.

One of the most special relationships a person may have is with their father. It seems to be especially important for a father and his daughter, and we see that beauty coming through in the video below.

Nicole Cortez had been preparing for her wedding for a very long time. Like any bride, she wanted the day to be perfect but she had no idea that it would be just as perfect as what it would be.

You see, Nicole is a sign language interpreter, so she often uses that form of communication throughout the day. Her father and husband are not deaf, and neither is Nicole, but she still loves sign language and it is a part of her.

Her father decided to do something so special that it would be remembered for the rest of her life. He stood up in front of her and the entire group at the wedding reception and signed the Heartland song, ‘I Loved Her First.’

It wasn’t just the fact that he was standing in front of her, but he also interpreted it into sign language. It took him an entire year to learn it!

Nicole spoke about this event, saying: “At my wedding reception my dad surprises my new husband and I by signing a beautiful song. I am a sign language interpreter so this meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song.”

We can only imagine how much dedication it would take to spend an entire year to get everything right. It was an emotional moment for Nicole and her new husband but there was not likely a dry eye in the house.

Taking the time to prepare for an event like this is never going to be a waste of time. Like Nicole’s father, you may even make a difference for someone special and for the world when the video is shared.
